Zen Media Player to be available in India in 4GB and 8GB capacities

Creative Zen Media Player will now be available in India through India Digital Life Style Distributors Pvt. Ltd. (IDLDPL). Creative ZEN player is a Credit Card-sized music, video and photo player, and is available in 4GB and 8GB capacities.
Zen Media Player to be available in India in 4GB and 8GB capacities The player has a 2.5-inch colour screen with 320 x 240-pixel resolution and supports up to 16.7 million colours. You can watch 16 hours of videos, enjoy up to 1,000 of your favourite songs and share hundreds of photos with your friends.

The Creative ZEN player supports AAC, MP3 and WMA formats. You can now listen to up to 4,000 of tracks that you have ripped from CDs through your iTunes software. Audio books and daily news reports from websites can also be downloaded on this.

Creative ZEN supports WMV9, MJPEG, MPEG4-SP, compatible DivX 4 and 5, and XviD. One charge of the built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 5 hours of video entertainment or up to 25 hours of music playback. It also comes with a built-in microphone and FM radio. Read more… »

Logitech lntroduces DJ Music Streaming System in India


It’s time to set your digital music free. Be a DJ in your own home—anywhere in your home—and control it all from the palm of your hand. You don’t even need a wireless network.

Logitech has introduced a new Wireless DJ Music System that can stream digital music from a PC to any stereo system.

This system connects your PC to your home-entertainment center or speaker system using plug-n-play wireless technology and can play PC audio format like MP3, iTunes (AAC), WMA, Internet radio, and podcasts.

The remote also includes an active playlists feature, called the DJ List. It allows users to browse through playlists, internet radio stations of choice, songs or albums to the queue without stopping the music. It’s equipped with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which you can recharge in the music receiver or dock.

The supplied Stream Point software, which runs on the PC, aggregates audio files, playlists, and Internet radio stations from iTunes, Windows Media Player, and Musicmatch Jukebox. It creates a unified music library that you can view and access using the remote.

The System is priced at Rs. 15, 995 and comes with a two-year limited warranty.

RADAG to launch $100 laptop in India


$100 laptopReliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group (RADAG) has launched $100 laptop by Nicholas Negroponte - founder of the ‘One laptop per child’ (OLPC) initiative - was. In fact, the laptops are priced at at $180 (around Rs 7,000). While the laptops are not close to the dream price of $100, the group feels that it will come down to $115 in a few years time. Under the initiative, Reliance Communications will provide internet connectivity, network backbone, logistic and support to the OLPC initiative in India, using its network that would cover over 25,000 towns and 6,00,000 Indian villages by March 2008. Microsoft to launch Zune Media Player


zuneMicrosoft has unveiled the second generation of its Zune media player, designed to compete with the dominant player in the digital music business, Apple’s iPod. The first generation digital music player was launched almost a year ago, which made little impact on iPod’s dominance. Microsoft expects the new Zune to become the clear number-two to Apple in the near future. The new 4Gb and 8Gb models feature the Zune Pad, a touch-sensitive button for navigating on the device, and have a wireless feature that can sync the device with the owner’s home wireless network.

The new Zunes will go on sale in North America in mid-November at $149 for the 4Gb model and $199 for the 8Gb model. Microsoft also launched Zune Social, a beta online community website where users can share their music tastes with other consumers.

Xbox 360 to come with 2 games this Holiday Season


xboxAfter wooing gamers worldwide, Microsoft is launching here the Xbox 360, compared to Sony’s Playstation 3, which costs whopping Rs 50,000. There are over 250 games available on the Xbox.

The Xbox 360 is no longer just a gaming pod. It’s where you will log into chat with friends, leave voice messages, download movie trailers and play music. Xbox live will be launched by year end. Xbox Live is integrated with Windows Live, which means that anyone with a Hotmail account can chat (instant message) with friends over Live, using the same username. Xbox has been designed for people to game from their couches.

The current gaming market in the country is just $100 million, compared to the worldwide $3-billion one. There is a lot of headroom. Which platform the gamers use is not important. Cybercafes are youth hangouts where gaming is becoming the rage.
The Xbox 360 Pro is available at the price of $350 (around Rs. 13,820) while the Elite model is priced at $450 (around Rs. 17,760). This price will include two games Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance which now will come free for Xbox 360.
