If you are not an Apple fan, a Good News for you! Microsoft’s Zunes second generation is back. Microsoft’s new Zunes, portable media player will hit stores tomorrow. The Zune 4, Zune 8 and the Zune 80, along with the Zune Marketplace update will be readily available. It will be available in a broad range of colors and bedecked with tattoos, custom engravings, and other artwork. Called “Zune Originals,” the new Zune range will feature a selection of artwork by 18 artists and design studios.

They are: Colletivo Studios, Catalina Estrada, Laurent Fetis, Sam Flores, Klaus Haapaniemi, Pierre Marie, Kenzo Minami, Parskid, Mike Perry, Phunk Studios, Chisato Shinya, Skwak, Iosefatu Sua, Tado, Nobumasa Takahashi, Ramiro Torres, Darvin Vida, and Steve Wilson, with 27 total designs to be offered.
The new Zunes are going to be available in models of 4GB ($149.99), 8GB ($199.99), and 80GB ($249.99). The 80GB model features a hard drive instead of flash memory. Everyone seems to cash in on the yuva (youth) brigade in India. Here’s quite an exciting device that is targeting the right nerve of the Indian youth with its fun-loving lingo package. Keeping this in view and to make a dent into the entry-level cellphone market, Motorola has announced the launch its latest entry-level “Indian-culture embedded mobile phone”, MotoYuva W180 in India.

“MotoYuva W180” is primarily targeted at the Indian youth. The device would incorporate an in-built dictionary comprising of around 30,000 Hindi language words that would prompt the user with Hinglish terms the moment he/she keys in the first couple of letters of the alphabet. This dictionary will have words that are commonly used by the modern-day youth of India, making it simpler for them to converse in an easier manner.
The unique feature incorporated on this handset is the dual Hindi-English mode keypads for flawless messaging. Besides, a Hindu calendar replete with data such as festivals, holidays, nakshatras, sunrise and sunset time, yoga, karan and ‘tithi’ come built in with the phone.

The wait for Apple iPhone is finally over in UK and Germany. T-Mobile in Germany and O2 in UK launched the iPhone in European countries on November 9.
Thousand of fans queued-up outside stores in Germany to buy the mobile phone from Apple. T-mobile has already reported that they sold over 10,000 devices during the first day on sale. In Britain too there were long queues outside Apple and O2 stores British operator has sold ten of thousands of Apple iPhones in the UK since the ultimate gadget went first on sale on Friday.

In Britain iPhone costs 269 GBP (approx Rs. 22,007), with 18 months contract with O2. While in Germany, T-Mobile is selling the iPhone at 399 euros (approx Rs. 22,962).
It seems the phone is doing well in Germany and UK. Let’s see if it appeals to the French youth as well. The iPhone is being launched in France on France Telecom’s Orange, by the end of this month, while Asians will have to wait until 2008 to get their hand on the device.
O2, the UK servicer provider is calling the iPhone the fastest-selling device we have ever seen.

Sanyo has announced a new model of voice recorder, Diply Talk ICR-PS390RM which is said to be the world’s highest capacity voice recorder. While 8GB may be standard fare for MP3 players, but it’s a big deal in the MP3 recorder industry.

Users can record voice for 12 hours at high quality whereas at lowest quality, it can record up to 1,000 hours of audio before deleting. Samsung Electronics is launching its first touch-screen, full Internet-browsing mobile phone to occupy the domestic smartphone market in Korea.

The Korean electronics giant will start selling the M4650 ‘Multi-touch Phone’ via LG Telecom. The handset has a 2.8-inch LCD screen which doubles as a keypad, which is smaller than iPhone’s 3.5-inch display and thus is used with a stylus pen.
