Epson has launched three large format, 8-color professional production printers in India. The three printers, i.e.17-inch Epson Stylus Pro 4880, the 24-inch Epson Stylus Pro 7880 and the 44-inch Epson Stylus Pro 9880 feature the Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta technology. Epson UltraChrome™ K3 Ink is the standard by which all other professional-level ink technologies are measured.
The Epson large format printer range offers superior media flexibility, and is compatible with a wide range of Epson paper up to 1.5mm in thickness. Glossy paper, matte paper, matte board, fine art paper and plain paper are all supported.The new 8-colour large format printers, comes standard with a roll holder and cut sheet support. Thus users can expect a wide color gamut, replicating colors with accuracy, high color stability and consistency, durability and the ability to negate metameris and bronzing effects.
The EPSON Stylus Pro 4880 features a paper cassette feed mechanism, for high-volume production on cut sheet paper from A4 to 17″ wide. The Epson Stylus Pro 9880 Printer is the 44-inch printer which also uses Epson’s proprietary UltraChrome K3™ Ink Technology with Vivid Magenta for astonishing results. Its Eight-Channel MicroPiezo® AMC™ Print Head with Ink Repelling Coating manages 180 nozzles per channel, produces black density up to 2.55 with an L value of 2.9.Its AccuPhoto™ HD Screening Technology provides advanced screening algorithm resulting in prints with superior color and clarity with maximum resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi. Other specifications include true border free printing, built-in automatic cutting system, epson intelligent high-capacity ink system, on-the-fly ink cartridge replacement, automatic head alignment and nozzle check and superior connectivity through USB 2.0 and 10/100 BaseT Ethernet.
The Epson Stylus Pro 4880, Epson Stylus Pro 7880 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9880 printers are immediately available in India. However, no price tag has been announced for the above printers yet.
