Toshiba announced a new 22.2 inches PC LCD monitor, QUXGA-W LCD with a resolution of 3,840×2,400 pixels. It is said to be four times as sharp as typically larger 1920×1200 displays and even sharper than the 1680×1050 images often generated by LCDs at the same size. This gives it a 200DPI density closer to that of photo paper with a full 16.7 million colors.
The Toshiba monitor is with a pixel pitch of 0.1245mm (200dpi). Moreover, it comes with a DVI-D (24-pin) 2channel interface and supports Windows XO operating system. A dedicated graphics card is also sold separately.
Other features of the super hi-resolution monitor are 235cd/m2 brightness, 300:1 contrast ratio, and 120 degrees FOV.
This QUXGA-W resolution LCD monitor would be costing around $17,000 (approx. Rs. 6,70,000). It is likely to be go on sale in spring 2008.
