T-Mobile USA Inc., in order to boost wireless e-mail and Web access, introduced a mobile phone, named HTC Shadow which is designed to ease consumers into using online features. The phone was earlier known as HTC Juno.

The T-Mobile Shadow, a pocket-sized phone that slides open to reveal a keyboard for typing e-mails, uses Windows Mobile software. The handset can also connect to Wi-Fi wireless Internet networks.
This is actually the first in a line of “Shadows” from HTC and T-Mobile so the next model may have 3G support. It also has 2.6 inch QVGA screen, high-quality 2.0-megapixel digital camera with video capture, a multimedia player to listen to and share favorite music and video. Shadow features enhanced myFaves functionality for user to call, send an e-mail, text or instant message, and share a picture, video or voice note, all with a push of the button right from the myFaves home screen. It seems, this phone is designed for people who have lives beyond work.
The Shadow has been made by High Tech Computer Corp. of Taoyuan, Taiwan. It has been developed to reduce the complexity when the high-features are incorporated into the device. According to HTC, in both form and function, the T-Mobile Shadow delivers an unmistakable commitment to enhancing personal relationships. Also, T-Mobile worked with Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft for about a year to develop the Windows Mobile version that runs on Shadow, making it easier for users to find key features such as e-mail.
In terms of connectivity, the HTC Shadow provides Wi-Fi and EDGE-enabled high-speed Internet access to power Web surfing. You can also access T-Mobile Address Book that allows you to import contact information from Yahoo!, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook and other e-mail services onto their phone.
The T-Mobile Shadow will be available on Wednesday for only US$149.99 (Rs. 5990/-) in two colors, copper and sage, with a 2-year voice and data plan. This is an outstanding price for a Windows Mobile 6 device and with cool customizations.
