Actor Katrina Kaif unveiled Philips Electronics India’s first ever Diamond-encrusted Ambilight FlatTV. The HDTV features 225 carats of close to 2,250 individual diamonds set in a floral pattern around the edges of the frame. It is created in conjunction with New York-based jeweller, A Link, and is the most expensive television yet, valued at around $150,000 or Rs. 60,00,000 (Sixty Lakh rupees). Yes, you read it correct!

Philips also launched its new range of Ambilight FlatTVs featuring new LED (Light Emitting Diode) illumination and proprietary Perfect Pixel HD Engine technologies, combined with future-proof Full HD screen display of 1920 x 1080p resolution.
The Ambilight technology enhances the viewing experience which is greatly enhanced by projecting background lighting from the rear of the FlatTV onto the wall using analysis of incoming TV signals in real time.
Philips also announced the Diwali promotion titled, ‘Rocket Jalao, Gadi Chalao’, entitling each consumer to an assured gift on every purchase. Under the promotion, Philips will offer a Rocket Scratch Card with every audio visual product. Sixty three lucky customers will drive home with brand new cars, including 51 Altos and 11 Maruti SX4. One very lucky customer will take home a brand new Grand Vitara as bumper prize.
There is a bad news for those customers who wanted to buy this TV. The Diamond FlatTV will be shown at different events around the world to Philips customers, employees and consumers and is one-of-a-kind and will not be available for retail.
