The search engine Google today launched its Google SMS facility for mobile users in India. Through this beta offering, users will be able to avail of the Google Search tool without the need of a computer or an internet enabled phone.

It will allow user to get movie show timings, business listings, Restaurants, weather conditions among others by typing 54664 or 5GOOG from their mobile phones. This service is currently available on the Airtel, Aircel, BPL, BSNL and Reliance Communication networks in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Users will have to pay Premium SMS rates as per their provider’s plan.
Millions of new mobile users are being added every month, and Google SMS will provide them with a quick and easy way to get the information they need when and where they need it.
